Description
Description Nurse Manager (a.k.a. The Calm in the Chaos, the Heart of the Floor) Our community is looking for a Nurse Manager with a big heart, strong clinical skills, and the ability to lead with compassion (and maybe a sense of humor on tough days). At Helia, we’re not just a skilled nursing facility—we’re HOME. That means we treat our residents like family, support each other like teammates, and believe great care happens best in a positive, energetic environment. We work hard, laugh often, and make sure our Nurse Managers feel appreciated—so they can pass that appreciation right along to our residents. What You’ll Do (Besides Being Amazing) The Nurse Manager plays a key role in ensuring our residents receive exceptional care that meets professional standards, regulatory requirements, and—most importantly—human kindness. You’ll help lead our nursing team while keeping resident care safe, effective, and compassionate. Your day-to-day may include: Helping manage the nursing department and supporting residents, staff, visitors, and the occasional lost family member. Ensuring nursing care meets or exceeds company standards and regulatory expectations (yes, surveys included). Recognizing and responding to residents’ clinical needs with skill and urgency. Assisting with dressing changes, wound care, and oversight of our wound management program. Communicating changes in resident condition to physicians and updating care documentation. Participating in scheduling and conducting resident rounds to ensure quality care—especially related to wound care. Making prompt, accurate nursing assessments and care decisions. Supporting medication administration, treatments, and nursing services per care plans and physician orders. Helping maintain accurate, timely charting and documentation (because if it’s not documented, it didn’t happen). Ensuring all required records and forms are completed and submitted correctly and on time. Assisting with evaluations of potential residents to ensure we can meet their care needs. Maintaining open communication with the Medical Director to ensure programs and services align with resident needs. Performing all duties in a way that supports residents, the team, and business operations—without unnecessary stress or drama. Requirements What You’ll Need A current, valid Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license Experience in long-term care, acute care, or geriatric nursing preferred Leadership skills, clinical confidence, and the ability to balance compassion with accountability Why Helia?
