General Summary/ Responsibilities The Nurse Navigator for Fetal/Newborn Care (NN) plans, coordinates and executes prenatal services for the patients at Miami Valley Hospital and Dayton Children’s Hospital. The Nurse Navigator will guide patients through delivery and beyond. The position includes supporting physicians at both DCH and MVH in the coordination and flow of patient visits. The NN also assists with maintaining patient care websites/databases/educational materials and coordinating outreach education and marketing activities. Maintenance of the overall program includes budget support, and data analysis. The FCC will coordinate research IRBs and grant administrations to support the overall mission of Miami Valley Hospital-Dayton Children’s Fetal to Newborn Care Center. The RN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, Nursing Code of Ethics and applicable regulatory standards. Education Minimum Level of Education Required: Master's degree Additional requirements: § Type of degree: Nursing § Area of study or major: N/A § Preferred educational qualifications: N/A § Position specific testing requirement: N/A Licensure/Certification/Registration § Valid Ohio RN license § Current CPR certification required at the time of hire. § Certified in area of specialty within 12 months. Experience Minimum Level of Experience Required: 5 - 7 years of job related experience Prior job title or occupational experience: N/A Prior specific functional responsibilities: N/A Preferred experience: Obstetrical or neonatal experience Other experience requirements: five years of clinical experience in area of specialty. Knowledge/Skills Must be able to multitask with constant interruptions while maintaining a pleasant demeanor Basic computer knowledge Strong organization skills Effective interpersonal and communication skills
