ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you a compassionate and driven Registered Nurse ready to make a meaningful impact? We’re looking for outstanding Defence Force Recruiting (DFR) Nurse Officers to help shape the future of the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
This part-time role is based at our Robina Clinic in Queensland (The Yugumbeh people), offering 22.8 hours per week across Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Additionally, travel to our Loganholme and Southport clinics will be required as part of the role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a DFR Nurse Officer, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the recruitment and readiness of future Defence personnel. You will:

  • Conduct telephone screenings and in-person preliminary medical assessments
  • Accurately document findings in electronic health records
  • Review online medical histories and extract relevant details
  • Complete medical file reviews and manage archival records
  • Request and manage extant medical reports
  • Maintain medical equipment used in assessments
  • Work within established Defence policies and procedures

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 3 years’ broad clinical experience in a health system comparable to Australia
  • Enrolled Nurses must have completed a Diploma of Nursing and possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the health system
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and ICT systems
  • Desirable: experience in Defence settings or pre-employment medicals
  • Mandatory: Working With Children Check and current CPR (HLTAD009) certification
  • Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain an AGSVA Baseline Security Clearanc
