Description Part Time or Per Diem- 10-20 hours per week The Nurse Practitioner will be available to meet the medical assessment and treatment needs of each resident according to the Part 820 Regulations. Responsibilities Functions independently to perform history and physical examinations for program residents. Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to resident’s needs. Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities. Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability, including psychiatric stability if so certified to do so. Monitors the effectiveness of interventions. Facilitates the patient’s transition within and between level of care settings, e.g. admitting, transferring, and discharging patients. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals. Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools. Is available on-call to review the medical assessments completed by medical staff in order to respond to immediate crises for residents. Requirements Must be an unrestricted New York State licensed Nurse Practitioner. Have a minimum of three years’ experience with at least one year of experience in the recovery (addictions and/or mental illness) or human services fields preferred. Nurse Practitioner must satisfy physician collaboration requirements. Must possess a New York State driver’s license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and reliable automobile.
