The post holder will be responsible for bed / site management and patient flow in the out of hours period. In addition to this, the post holder will possess knowledge and skills to support a range of clinical activities essential to the care of patients out of hours. This involves basic assessment of patients, venepuncture, cannulation, ECG interpretation and formulation of treatment and management plans in collaboration with medical staff. ILS or ALS qualification is essential.
The post holder will provide leadership, clinical support and advice to nursing and medical staff, acting as the first point of contact out of hours for ward staff seeking clinical advice and assistance.
Applicants are required to have relevant clinical experience at band 6 within an acute area and management experience would be advantageous.
Applicants interested in secondment should have approval from their line managers if invited for interview.
The hours for this post are 37 per week and are all night shift and weekend working.
