About the Role We are seeking a skilled and patient‑centred Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical team in Virginia Beach, VA on a full‑time basis. The successful clinician will deliver high‑quality primary and acute care across post‑acute, long‑term care, and assisted living settings, working collaboratively with nursing staff, physicians and allied health professionals to support excellent resident outcomes. Schedule This is a full‑time position based in Virginia Beach with a schedule that will include daytime shifts, on‑site coverage and occasional after‑hours availability for urgent clinical needs. Exact hours will be determined based on facility coverage requirements and mutual agreement. Core Responsibilities Provide comprehensive assessments, develop and implement evidence‑based treatment plans, and manage acute and chronic conditions for residents across assigned facilities Prescribe and manage medication therapies within scope of practice and in accordance with Virginia regulations; perform medication reviews and reconciliation Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic tests; coordinate referrals and follow‑up with specialists and community providers as necessary Document resident encounters accurately and promptly in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), ensuring clear communication of clinical reasoning and care plans Collaborate closely with facility nursing leadership, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members to support care planning, transitions, and safe discharges Participate in case reviews, care conferences, quality improvement projects, and infection prevention initiatives Provide education and clinical support to on‑site staff, residents and families; communicate clinical status and goals of care with compassion and clarity Maintain required clinical documentation, comply with regulatory and facility policies, and support chart audits and peer review as requested Qualifications and Required Skills Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nurse Practitioner studies from an accredited program Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner licence in Virginia and current DEA registration where required Current basic life support (BLS) certification and any other certifications required by facility policy Experience in post‑acute care, long‑term care, geriatrics, or related settings preferred Demonstrated proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems and strong documentation practices Excellent clinical judgement, assessment skills and the ability to work autonomously while collaborating within multidisciplinary teams Effective communication skills, culturally sensitive approach and commitment to patient‑centred care What Success Looks Like Timely, accurate clinical assessments and appropriate interventions that support resident safety and wellbeing Clear, comprehensive documentation in the EMR and effective communication with facility staff and families Active participation in quality improvement activities with measurable contributions to clinical outcomes and regulatory compliance Strong, collaborative relationships with facility leadership and multidisciplinary teams that promote resident‑centered care Perks for Our Healthcare Professionals Competitive compensation-Independent Contractor Flexible scheduling to support work–life balance and professional needs Clinical autonomy within a supportive, multidisciplinary team environment Comprehensive professional and administrative support, including assistance with credentialing and billing where applicable Access to discounted Medical Malpractice Insurance and other benefits as applicable Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, or on the basis of disability.
