SUMMARY OF DUTIES
The Odette Cancer Program (OCP) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to support our Genitorurinary Medical Oncology site with prostate cancer patients. The NP functions in an expanded nursing role within OCP demonstrating a high level of autonomy and expert skill to formulate clinical decisions. In collaboration with the interprofessional team, the NP is responsible for managing, in a comprehensive manner, the health needs of patients receiving prostate cancer medical oncology care. The NP is responsible for leading the provision of person-centred care by completing comprehensive assessments, ordering diagnostic tests and implementing therapeutic plans of care. The NP is an advanced practice role designed to contribute to the quality of patient care through practice, education, research and leadership practices according to the philosophy and standards of Sunnybrook. Along with the clinical responsibilities, this NP position will also include research-related responsibilities as described below. Expected role split is 65% clinical, 35% research.
