Title: Nurse Practitioner Department: Health Community: Arviat Requisition Number: 735 Type of Employment: Indeterminate Salary range: $129,550 to $147,024 per year, 37.5 hours/week Northern Allowance: $22,622 to $24,767 per year Housing: Subsidized Staff Housing is Available Union Status: Nunavut Employees Union Closing date: Open until filled     This employment opportunity is open to all applicants.   For Nurse Practioner position that is full time and permanent, recruitment bonuses include: $5,000 on start date, $5,000 at 18 months of service and $10,000 at 30 months of service. Additional premiums include a $9,000 Annual Frontline Allowance and a $375 Monthly Retention Bonus of $4,500 per year. For Job shares, salary, bonuses/allowances are pro-rated in accordance with hours worked.   The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides and autonomously manages health assessment, diagnosis, intervention and follow-up care to the residents of their community in accordance with Nurse Practitioner Acts, regulations, policies, standards, mission and the objectives of the Department of Health and the Government of Nunavut. Through the provision of health interventions (health promotion, occupational health and safety, public health, community development and curative treatment) this position has a direct impact on the health status of clients, families and the community; and contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the health centre operations. 
Responsibilities
The Nurse Practitioner autonomously manages health assessments, diagnoses, and follow-up care for community residents. They implement health interventions including public health and curative treatments to improve the overall health status of clients and families.
