Job Summary: The Inpatient Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team. The NP assesses, diagnoses, and manages acute and chronic conditions, coordinates patient care, and promotes positive clinical outcomes throughout the hospital stay. Responsibilities: Perform patient assessments, histories, physical examinations, and daily rounds. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions. Order, interpret, and review laboratory, diagnostic, and imaging studies. Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with scope of practice. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans. Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition. Participate in discharge planning and care transitions. Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and follow-up care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
