Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team at the Walton County Jail located in Monroe, GA. As a vital member of our medical staff, you will provide high-quality patient care in a correctional setting. Your expertise will play a crucial role in assessing patient needs, implementing care plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal health outcomes. Responsibilities: * Provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning of patients in the medical unit, housing units, and/or via telepsychiatry to evaluate current/past mental health issues. * Responds to mental health emergencies throughout the facility. * Collaborates with the Mental Health Clinician regarding patient status and treatment. * Manages psychiatric medication for patients utilizing MedHealth formulary. When non-formulary medications are required, the psychiatric practitioner will follow established protocols for obtaining such medications. * Delivers care in accordance with established MedHealth Policies and Procedures. * Thoroughly documents all patient encounters in electronic or paper medical record in accordance with MedHealth Policies and Procedures, and within state, local, federal guidelines. * Communicates the need for special housing to appropriate medical and security personnel. * Follows all County Policies and Procedures with regard to security and patient contact. * Collaborates with Health Service Administrator, Medical Director, Medical Nurse Practitioner, and Security Personnel regarding patients as needed. * Attends mandatory monthly staff meetings and quarterly Pharmaceutical & Therapeutic meetings via phone or in person. * Other duties as necessary. Qualifications: * Must have an active, unrestricted APRN license in the state of Georgia * Must have at least one (1) year of experience * Correctional experience preferred * Must have a valid DEA * Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers through American Red Cross or American Heart Association * Must have prescribing authority in Georgia Shift Details: * Part-Time: 24 hours/week, flexible schedule * On-call hours (additional pay) For more information, visit our website at https://mymedhealth.care/ [https://mymedhealth.care/].
