    Responsibilities
    Mayo Clinic Health System Minnesota is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Medical Oncology practice. We have two positions available with the first based in Red Wing with planned outreach care to Northfield, and the second position based in Mankato with potential for outreach care to a site within 1 hours drive time. The Minnesota Medical Oncology practice is a physician-led team of board certified Hematology and Oncology physicians working in collaboration with multiple specialties including Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Radiology, and Pathology. You will join a multi-disciplinary team of cancer care professionals focused on diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of various types of cancer. Weekly tumor boards and clinical research trials are part of the practice. This position requires direct patient care and telemedicine services.
    The NP/PA in collaboration with Medical Oncologists and a care team consisting of RNs, LPNs, Social Services, Nutrition Services, Pharmacy, and other ancillary support staff provide clinical care to cancer patients at various stages of treatment and recovery.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Obtain Hematology/Oncology specific histories and physicals.
  • Order, interpret, diagnose, and communicate diagnostic results to patients and care team members.
  • Devise and implement treatment care plans.
  • Facilitate and deliver patient education regarding Hematology/Oncology conditions.
  • Provide Hematology/Oncology follow-up care.
  • Clinical time will be in the outpatient setting, and may provide infusion center support
