ONA POSTING Position: Nurse Practitioner Department: Electrophysiology Program (Cardiac Health) Posting ID: 6325 Role Level: CPS06 $67.16 - $80.31/ per hour Status: Part-time Site: Mississauga Hospital Hours of Work/Shifts: 8 Hour Shifts - Primarily Days (M-F) Posted: January 29, 2026 Internal Deadline: February 5, 2026 Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of the Cardiac Health Program, the Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice nurse whose role is comprised of five domains of practice including clinical practice, leadership, collaboration, research and consultation. Supports the cardiac program by providing direct and indirect advanced clinical care within the specialty of Electrophysiology, integrating expert assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with cardiac rhythm disorders, across the continuum of care in the inpatient and outpatient setting in collaboration with the multidisciplinary EP team. Modelling professional and organizational core competencies, assisting with professional development of team members through mentoring, formal and informal education initiatives, and contributing to research, quality initiatives and consultation related to electrophysiology practice. Engages in clinical mentoring and/or other academic activities through clinical appointment with an academic institution. In partnership with physician and administrative leadership, the nurse practitioner participates as a key member of the EP program and professional leadership team by promoting high quality, evidence-based care, contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical policies, pathways and practice standards, and monitoring patient outcomes within the specialty population in support of continuous quality improvement and one patient experience across the organization. Provides a leadership role within the EP service and broader Cardiac Health program, providing coverage as needed Key Qualifications Minimum masters level nurse practitioner preparation Current registration in the Extended Class with College of Nurses of Ontario (Successful completion of Ontario NP-Adult Extended Class examination) Previous experience in Cardiac Health is required 3-5 years clinical experience in acute care of adult Cardiac patients Previous experience in Cath Lab and Electrophysiology preferred Minimum of 1 year clinical experience as an NP in cardiac patient management along with a strong interest in the management of electrophysiology patients Advanced assessment and diagnostic reasoning skills Strong problem solving and negotiation skills Must be able to practice independently and interdependently Demonstrated leadership to advance the practice of nursing and inter-professional practice to achieve established goals Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with patients, families, physicians and inter-professional team members Demonstrated use of theory and research to enable evidence-based practice Experience with research methodology, program planning, quality improvement initiatives, workflows and evaluation preferred Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification Current Advance Cardiac Life Support certification Satisfactory performance and attendance required To pursue this career opportunity, please visit our website: www.thpcareers.ca Candidates are selected on the basis of their skill, ability, experience and qualifications.
