REQUIRED EDUCATION

A master’s degree in nursing and graduation from an accredited nursing program.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

At least three (3) years nursing experience.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

Graduation from a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessor agencies.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

A minimum of one (1) year PA experience.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED

  • 2-3 years of experience working and treating patients with Hematology-Oncology related health issues.
  • Comfortable with conducting shared medical appointments.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and presenting in front of large groups.
  • Individual should enjoy being part of multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive or episodic health history and physical assessment of patients.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Maintain accurate medical records.
  • Collaborate with other providers and members of the health care team in delivery of care and make appropriate referrals when needed.
  • Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans.
  • Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making using evidence-based practice.
  • Participate in research and development projects.
  • Participate in education of nurse practitioners, nurse practitioner students and medical students.
