Wound Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Job Summary  Schedule | PRN The Wound Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant functions under the clinical supervision of licensed physicians, providing high quality wound care to patients within Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living, Independent Living, Memory Care, Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital, and Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital settings in our Wisconsin Rapids, Stevens Point, Wausau, Merrill and Tomahawk service areas. Key Responsibilities * Evaluates and manages patients for wound care and ensures delivery of care meets current standards of practice.  * Ensures education is provided to the facility staff regarding patient's wound(s).  * Addresses both acute and chronic primary care complaints, and able to ascertain medical urgency.  * Applies principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.  * Consults specialty services as appropriate.  * Orders pertinent diagnostic laboratory and radiology testing for the medical diagnosis or presenting symptom.  * Accepts feedback and direction from the supervising physician.  * Creates and implement a medical plan of care.  * Prescribes medications as appropriate.  * Performs timely documentation and billing.  * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications * Valid Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner License.  * Wound Care Board Certification (WOCN), or within 6 months of hire.  * Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS). * DEA License, or ability to obtain. * Excellent clinical skills * High emotional intelligence * Effective oral and written communication skills. * Deep commitment to providing excellent patient care. * Top-notch problem-solving skills. * Work well independently and as part of a broader team.  * Strong ability to work in a fast-paced work setting.  What Could Make You Stand Out * Proven leadership skills * Excellent time management skills. * Positive, can-do attitude.
