OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and be proficient in various medical practices, including but not limited to acute care, geriatrics, and pediatrics. This role requires excellent patient assessment skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive care to patients across different settings, ensuring high standards of medical practice and patient safety.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current registration and certification from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Relevant certifications in specialized areas of practice.
  • Experience in critical care, emergency medicine, or urgent care settings is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding and CPT coding practices.
  • Proficiency in handling medical documentation and records management.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities is a plus.
  • Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) and advanced airway management techniques.
  • Previous experience in outpatient settings or teaching hospitals is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health principles and psychopharmacology is beneficial.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and assessments of patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments, including IV infusion, botulinum toxin treatment, dermal fillers, and esthetic laser treatment.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations and procedures such as suturing, spinal taps, catheterization, and specimen collection.
  • Manage acute pain and provide hospice & palliative medicine care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient management.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for patient records management.
  • Provide telehealth services as needed to enhance patient access to care.
  • Engage in clinical research and case management activities to improve patient outcomes.
