As a fast growing and well-respected private practice in Ventura County, the role of our physicians in our practice are to examine and treat patients, regardless of age or sex. Ensure proper injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Prescribe and administer medications, perform routine vaccinations, and provide advice regarding personal health and hygiene. Request necessary tests and follow-up visits and refer patients to specialists, as necessary.    Opportunity Highlights  * Community leader in primary care. * Flexible work hours to accommodate work/life balance.  * Excellent support staff and collegiality among providers.     Description  * Full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Primary Care.  * Full-time is 40 hours per work week (36 patient facing hours in clinic; 4 admin hours non-clinic) * Competitive salary.  * Providers see approximately three patients per hour once fully trained and onboarded. * EHR: Athena– Ventura Area   Required education and experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.    Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:  * Board certification.  * Active and unrestricted California PA/NP medical license.    Minimum Experience Required:    * Board certification/eligibility.  * License/Certification: Active and unrestricted California Medical license. (Required)    Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required:   * Bilingual Spanish or other language preferred but not required.   * EMR: Athena * Strong understanding of examination methodologies and diagnostics.  * Excellent knowledge of infectious diseases, their symptoms and epidemiology.  * Broad knowledge of common medication, side effects and contraindications.  * In-depth knowledge of legal and best medical guidelines and medicine best practices.  * Excellent oral and written communication skills.  * Respect for patient’s confidentiality.  * Compassionate and approachable.  * Responsible and trustworthy.    Expected Hours of Work  * Full-time Advance Practice Provider (APP) in family practice (30-40 hours per work week).  * Providers see approximately three patients per hour (20 patients per 8-hour shift). * 4, 4.5 or 5- day work week options. * Schedule: 8-hour shift. * Call schedule up to 4 weeks per year with Saturday morning coverage required.   Work location:  * TBD.   Travel:  * Travel for meetings is expected about 3-5 % of the time.
