JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide coverage for a family physician during a maternity leave period. You will be joining a supportive and collaborative environment serving a well-established roster of patients. The ideal candidate will be confident in providing comprehensive primary care independently and have experience managing a wide range of acute and chronic conditions in all age groups. This position would be part-time starting as soon as possible. Schedule would be 8-12 hours weekly with flexible scheduling and a combination of in-person and virtual care is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Registered Nurse Practitioner in good standing with the CNO
• Current RNAO or NPAO membership (preferred)
• Experience in family medicine/primary care setting
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
• Proficient with EMR systems (Avaros experience is an asset)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Provide comprehensive primary care to rostered patients (both in-person and virtually)
• Manage acute and chronic medical conditions across the lifespan
• Conduct routine physical exams and preventative health assessments
• Order and interpret lab investigations and diagnostic tests
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans
• Complete necessary documentation in the EMR (Avaros)
• Coordinate care with specialists and allied health professionals as needed
• Provide patient education and health promotion
• Maintain accurate and timely charting and clinical documentation
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards of practice.
