DEPARTMENT SCOPE OF SERVICE The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is an acuity adjustable unit providing care to a diverse patient population requiring medical-surgical and telemetry levels of care. In addition, we see higher level of care patients, including but not limited to those on BiPap, titratable drips, or with hemodynamic instability requiring more frequent interventions and monitoring. The PCU is a 24/7/365 service with 25 beds. The team includes hospital medicine, care management, physical therapy and respiratory collaborating together to provide the best patient care possible. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited RN program EXPERIENCE/SKILL SETS: Commitment to professional growth through participation in continuing education Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Provides care that is respectful of patients cultural diversity, age, gender, and lifestyle choices LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION(S): BLS healthcare provider status RN License OSHA CATEGORY OSHA Category I - Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues require use of techniques of Universal Precautions as evidenced with blood borne pathogens standards.
