Description

Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) in Cardiac Holding provides nursing care to Cath Lab, Electrophysiology Lab and TEE patients utilizing the nursing process and the standards of care of a professional nurse. The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and functions as charge nurse when assigned. The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities /tasks may be delegated to the Patient Care Associated and Guest Associates. Qualifications Required Education:: Associate's Degree Specific Coursework: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. New hires effective June 14, 2017, must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position. New hires or transfers into in the position between August 1, 2013 and June 13, 2017 must abide with the conditions in his or her offer letter and the verbiage in the job description signed upon hire or transfer into the position. Current employees who were hired or transferred into the position prior to August 1, 2013 will be grandfathered. Preferred Education:: BSN Required Licensure/Certifications:: Current licensure as RN in Florida or valid licensure in one of the states under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). If licensed under the eNLC, must obtain FL RN licensure within 90 days of becoming a Florida resident. BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS from the American Heart Association Preferred Licensure/Certifications:: Professional certification Required Experience:: less than one (1) year related experience. Preferred Experience:: One (1) year clinical experience. Necessary Skills:: 1. Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all members of the healthcare team. 2. Demonstrates a willingness to learn new methods, procedures and techniques resulting from departmental or organization change. 3. Adapts quickly and easily to change and adjusted behavior and approach to work when necessary to achieve goals.

Responsibilities
