POSITION TYPE: Full-Time Position Available
SALARY: $68,785 - $96,948 per annum
POSITION LOCATION: Notre Dame Campus (Winnipeg, MB)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree
  • Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba
  • Certified Health Care Professional level CPR
  • Several years of experience working as a Nurse in a hospital or clinic setting
  • Experience with Immunization and tuberculin skin test administration
  • Extensive experience with mental health and illness, behavioural issues, anger management, and conflict resolution
  • Experience developing and delivering relevant training sessions (toolbox talks, safety plans)
  • Experience working in Echart.
  • Demonstrated strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Strong organization and time management skills to carry out multiple demands with frequent interruptions, ability to triage simultaneous health concerns, including urgent and/or emergent care.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with many departments and people
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in an inter-disciplinary team-based model
  • Ability to provide best practice advice related to maintaining a healthy learning and working environment for a diverse population within professional scope of practice
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to students, staff and faculty in ways that builds confidence and trust in supporting and enhancing student wellbeing
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with Community Mental Health Resources
  • Experience working in Echart, Accuro and Medeo
  • Knowledge and experience in mental health nursing practice
  • Knowledge of campus health and student populations
  • Experience in primary care or medical office setting
Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Safety and Health Services, the Nurse works collaboratively within a team environment to provide excellent customer service to a diverse population of staff, faculty, and students. The Health Centre is a fast-paced department that requires nurses to be forward thinking and solution oriented. This position will rotate between Notre Dame and Exchange District Campuses and provide support to Regional Campuses. The Nurse is responsible to ensure that clinical records are kept in accordance with all legislated acts such as PHIA, FIPPA, etc. The Health Centre provides a wide range of services such as mental health triage, assistance with medical care plans, immunizations, WCB and Student Medical case management, managing the clinic, responding to on-campus medical incidents, and providing education on health-related topics. We are hoping to hire for 1 full-time permanent nurse with the potential of hiring other part-time/full-time positions as well.
