Responsibilities Team Leadership: Oversee the selection, training, evaluation, and discipline of RN Nurse team. Parent Communication: Respond to parent inquiries promptly and professionally, maintaining transparent and effective communication. Station Management: Monitor the Nurses’ Station for cleanliness and safety, creating a conducive environment for medical care. Collaborative Contribution: Actively participate in weekly interdisciplinary Treatment Team meetings, providing valuable insights and updates. Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to reports of pain or sickness, assess students, and make informed decisions on necessary actions. Health Assessment: Determine when a student requires placement on sick bed due to illness or pain, prioritizing their well-being. Medical Accompaniment: Accompany students to medical appointments, effectively communicating findings and updates to parents. Vital Sign Monitoring: Check vital signs and weight of students as assigned, ensuring accurate and consistent healthcare documentation. Medication Administration: Accurately dispense student medications, meticulously recording details in the Medication Administration Record. Narcotics Oversight: Count and track narcotics every shift, maintaining a stringent and secure medication management system. Behavioral Monitoring: Monitor students’ mood, behavior, and affect, particularly during new medication introductions, and document findings. Lab Coordination: Correlate lab draws for students, contributing to comprehensive healthcare records. Medical Communication: Effectively communicate pertinent medical information to the Treatment Team and Psychiatrist, facilitating collaborative patient care. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) Active RN license in the state of Utah 3+ years of nursing experience, including experience in psychiatric/mental health 1+ year of leadership or Embark Nursing experience.
