JOB DESCRIPTION – NURSE SUPERVISOR

Position: Nurse Supervisor - Nurses
Department: Nursing / Healthcare Services
Location: [Dubai]
Reports to: Nursing Manager / Head of Nursing

JOB SUMMARY:

The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily nursing operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, managing nursing staff, and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards, policies, and regulations. The role involves supervising and mentoring nurses, coordinating schedules, monitoring patient care, and supporting hospital/clinic administration in achieving patient care excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid nursing license/registration preferred
  • Proven experience as a Senior Nurse, Charge Nurse, or Nurse Supervisor.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and patient safety protocols.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff across assigned units.
  • Ensure high standards of patient care, safety, and service quality.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluation for nursing staff.
  • Assist in workforce scheduling, shift planning, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor patient conditions, address escalated concerns, and coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Handle incident reports, patient feedback, and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Support nursing staff in emergency situations and provide clinical expertise as required.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and continuous professional development of nurses.
  • Maintain effective communication between staff, patients, families, and management.
