Job Summary: Performs selected functions under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse in the Medical Ambulatory Care Unit (MACU) of Erlanger Health Systems is responsible for direct and indirect care of patients pre and post procedures .The nurse tech 1 must be able to prepare the patients for an invasive caths, EP Study, radiology procedures, and Pulmonary procedures. Provide direct and indirect care of patients pre and post for procedures done in MACU under A Registered Nurse supervision Education: Required: Will consider a nursing student (RN or LPN) within one year of graduating from an accredited nursing program. Preferred: N\A Experience: Required: Medical background Preferred: N\A Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration Required: BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward. The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on the Medical Ambulatory Care Unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status. The employee must be under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Must be able to interpret the appropriate information needed to identify patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs. Must be able to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policy and procedure manual. The employee must able to provide care for patient pre procedure and post procedure from cath lab. pulmonary lab, radiology, and other areas of the hospital.
