Description

Job Summary: Performs selected nursing functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse. A non-licensed healthcare provider employed by Erlanger who is responsible for direct and/or indirect care of the patient. Education: Required: Will consider a nursing student (RN or LPN) within one year of graduating from an accredited nursing program. Preferred: N/A Experience: Required: Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills. Medical background required. Preferred: N/A Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration Required: BLS completed prior to going to the unit/ department and maintained going forward. De-escalation training. Preferred: N/A Department Position Summary: The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in Labor & Delivery. The employee must not give any medications, including pain pills, any injections, insulin, or provide eye ointment or vaccines to any newborn.
