Position Summary: Sovah Health in Danville, VA., is seeking a full-time Nurse Technician to provide support to OR staff by retrieving patients from IP units, stocking supplies, taking surgical specimens to the lab, assisting with OR cleanings between patients, and other support as directed by OR Charge RN and other OR staff. The OR Nurse Tech will: Performs basic housekeeping activities as delegated and supervised by an RN. Assists with keeping OR rooms and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly. Adhere to other duties assigned. Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Requires the ability to read and write legibly and carry out directions promptly and accurately. Must exhibit effective communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to perform duties in the OR. Requires the ability to respond quickly and calmly under stressful or emergencies. Required Certifications/Licensure: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Minimum Work Experience: Previous experience in a hospital setting preferred. Requirements will include successful completion of the orientation program and competency requirements.
