THE OPPORTUNITY

The Royal Freemasons community is currently seeking experienced and motivated Nurse Unit Coordinator to join our team at Coppin Centre Residential Aged Care Facility in inner Melbourne.
As a valued member of our clinical team, you will be pivotal in delivering safe, high quality and contemporary clinical care to our residents. You will play an important role in providing supervision and guidance to care staff, ensuring a resident-centric approach and high level of care and support is provided to our residents at all times.
The Nurse Unit Coordinator is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical care ensuring the provision of compassionate and excellent quality care overnight. To succeed in the role previous experience as a Registered Nurse in-charge or within a previous nursing leadership role is essential.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

It is a mandatory requirement when working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid Police Clearance or National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Clearance, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of this role.
All aged care workers are encouraged to be vaccinated against Covid-19 (3 vaccines) and are encouraged to receive the Flu-Vaccine, all successful applicants will be required to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination prior to commencement.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Providing high-quality medical care, including assessing residents’ health conditions, monitoring vital signs, and managing medications and treatments.
  • Undertake, or supervise others to undertake, clinical care for individual residents as required, including complex wound care, pain management, behaviour management, end of-life care and other clinical procedures as may be necessary.
  • Liaise with relevant Residential care staff, medical, allied health, hospital and other specialist health practitioners to ensure residents receive high level clinical care.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Recent experience in caring for high care and dementia residents
  • Knowledge of wound care, palliative care, behaviour management, clinical assessments, care plans
