Job Description The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) for the Operating Theatres provides strategic and operational leadership, overseeing the clinical governance, financial & resource management as well as the staffing requirements for our operating theatres. The Operating Theatre NUM fosters a collaborative multidisciplinary culture to maintain high-quality patient and surgical outcomes as well operational efficiency. You will work closely with the clinical team to ensure efficient management of staff and resources, with the overall goal of ensuring excellence in care delivery in line with policies, procedures & best practice. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services you will be leading a passionate team of nurses and clinical support staff. Key Responsibilities Accountable for the clinical, operational and professional leadership of the Operating Theatres Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care and optimal clinical outcomes Plan, implement & evaluate practices, processes and services in line with Ramsay health care standards, legislative requirements & best practice. About You To succeed in this role, you must display strong clinical knowledge and competence within the perioperative environment, with a background in Anaesthetic or Instrument nursing. You will thrive in a complex and demanding environment and be able to work collaboratively with medical, nursing and executive colleagues. You will strive for continuous improvement, quality and safety initiatives, workforce management and effective resource utilisation to achieve excellence in care delivery. You will bring: Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse Minimum five 5 years’ postgraduate experience in the perioperative setting Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams with a proven ability to drive operational efficiency and foster a culture of excellence Clinical Leadership and Management post graduate specialty qualifications will be highly regarded Experience managing clinical staff recruitment, rostering and performance management Exceptional communication skills with an ability to engage, influence and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including clinical teams, management and patients, ensuring clear understanding and alignment of objectives.
