THE OPPORTUNITY

Joining the team at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital as a Nurse Unit Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day clinical and operational management of our acute Surgical Ward comprising of General, Urology, ENT, Plastics, Vascular, Gynaecology and Paediatric Surgical specialties.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Clinical Services - Surgical, the successful candidate will supervise, lead, direct and motivate staff to achieve outcomes with the ability to manage financial and human resources.

This key leadership role will see you:

  • Apply advanced nursing practices in planning, implementing and evaluating patient care
  • Effectively manage roster processes and allocate duties to clinical staff
  • Work with and support other managers within the wider hospital community in achieving excellence in patient outcomes
  • Assist in shaping organisational strategy, improve procedural service provision and achieve departmental and Hospital strategic objectives.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You are a leader with a passion for seeing your team members succeed and grow while bringing a passion for a high level of client care and service. You will also demonstrate:

  • Relevant registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum 5 years post graduate experience in acute surgical nursing
  • Proven knowledge and experience as a senior nurse or manager
  • Post-graduate studies in an appropriate specialty or management qualifications will be highly regarded
  • Experience or exposure to managing clinical staff recruitment, rostering and performance management
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and capital resources

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
