OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily activities of the nursery, ensuring that each child feels safe, valued, and engaged in their learning journey.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A genuine love for working with young children is essential.
  • Previous experience in a childcare setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A relevant qualification in childcare or early years education would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children and adults alike.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to use initiative when required.
  • Knowledge of child development principles is beneficial.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

    Pay: £10.00-£12.50 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of educational activities that promote development in all areas: social, emotional, physical, and cognitive.
  • Supervise children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Support children with personal care routines, including feeding, changing, and toilet training as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organised environment by tidying up play areas and ensuring that resources are stored appropriately.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster positive relationships.
  • Observe and record children’s progress and behaviour to contribute to individual development plans.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
