Small Steps Day Nursery and Pre-school is situated in the heart of West Kirby and close proximity to the beach.
Small Steps are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Assistant Manager Level 3 or above in Childcare to join our thriving and expanding Nursery in the heart of West Kirby.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Minimum Level 3 Early Years Education and Childcare qualification, equivalent or above.
· Post qualification experience in working in early education and childcare.
· Ability to inspire people to deliver results, high standards and set clear objectives for self and the team.

Responsibilities
  • The Assistant Manager must at all times ensure the safety, care, welfare and happiness of the children in the Nursery.
  • The Ideal candidate must be self motivated, enthusiastic and will need to have an up to date working knowledge of the EYFS Framework
  • Must have 2 years experience working at a management level, in a early years setting.
  • Experience of working in partnership with parents and outside agencies
  • Experience of managing/supervising staff, WITH extensive knowledge of Safeguarding and procedures.
  • Managing and maintaining administration requirements.
  • Have a detailed understanding of the requirements set by Ofsted
  • Oversee the planning, delivery and monitoring of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework in accordance with the children’s learning and development needs.
  • You must have a warm smiling face that makes every child feel special.
  • You will preferably have a little bit of quirkiness. If a child requests that you be a captain of a pirate ship, you will be the best pirate captain you can be!
  • The ability to sing in tune is not necessary, however the ability to sing out of tune in front of a crowd is essential.
  • Possessing the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people is of the utmost importance.
  • You must ensure all children have access to resources, and invitations as well as learning opportunities to reach their full development and potential through awe and wonder.
  • Finally, you must be prepared to feel loved, special and important to many young children and their families and help all children in their care to achieve the best start they can with us.
    Safeguarding children’s welfare is paramount you must ensure that the safety and welfare of the children is at the centre of all that you do within Small Steps.
