JOB OPPORTUNITY: NURSERY CHEF (FULL-TIME)

Location: Traquinas Childcare, Thetford
Hours: Monday to Friday 9-1
Salary: Competitive dependent on experience

Are you passionate about cooking nutritious meals and making a difference in children’s lives? We are looking for a dedicated Chef to join our warm and welcoming outstanding nursery team!

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience as a chef/cook (ideally in a childcare or educational setting)
• A recognised Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 minimum)
• Knowledge of food safety standards
• Passion for child nutrition and healthy eating
• DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As our Nursery Chef, you will be responsible for preparing healthy, balanced, and age-appropriate meals for children aged 0–5 years. You’ll plan menus in line with dietary requirements, ensure food safety standards are met, and create a positive food culture in our setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan and prepare fresh, nutritious meals and snacks daily
• Cater for children with allergies, dietary restrictions, and cultural preferences
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment
• Order and manage food supplies within budget
• Work collaboratively with nursery staff to promote healthy eating habits
