HOUSEKEEPING SUPPORT

In addition to cooking duties, you will contribute to the overall upkeep of the nursery environment, including:

  • Completing laundry tasks (e.g., aprons, tea towels, or nursery linen as required).
  • Keeping communal and dining areas tidy and hygienic.
  • Cleaning and sanitising children’s eating spaces before and after meals.
  • Assisting with safe and efficient waste disposal.
  • Taking on general housekeeping tasks to support the day-to-day running of the nursery.

Responsibilities

NURSERY COOK – AFTERNOON ROLE

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Nursery Cook to join the team at our Treforest Day Nursery. We are searching for a friendly, dependable, and enthusiastic individual who can provide our children with tasty, nutritious meals each day. This position is for 22.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, 1:00pm–5:30pm.
For the right applicant, we may also consider offering a full-time position.
Our Nursery Cooks play a vital part in the smooth running of the nursery, making sure our children receive healthy meals that fuel their growth and development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and serve balanced meals and snacks, freshly cooked using our 3-week rotating menu.
  • Deliver meals that are both appealing and nutritious, in line with company standards.
  • Adapt menus and dishes to accommodate dietary needs and allergies.
  • Work closely with nursery staff to ensure mealtimes run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Keep the kitchen clean, safe, and well-organised at all times.
  • Follow all food hygiene, health, and safety guidelines to the highest standard.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring the nursery is fully prepared for environmental health inspections, maintaining consistently high standards.
  • Support the Nursery Manager and Senior Leadership Team with any additional duties relevant to the role.
