Wizkidz is an established children’s nursery in Midlothian, we have been open since 2001 offering childcare for up to just over 60 children per session. We pride ourselves in offering the children in our nursery with home made hot meals and snacks daily.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and food safety standards
- Ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely manner
- Assist in the planning and development of menus
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
- Monitor food stock levels and place orders
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as a cook in a nursery kitchen or similar setting
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment, cooking techniques and allergy requirements
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Culinary degree or certification is a plus, but not required
