Deputy Nursery Manager – Full-Time (Monday to Friday)

Your Role and ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Daily Operations
- Assist the Nursery Manager in leading and managing the nursery team
- Oversee staffing, room organisation, and ensure smooth daily operations
- Maintain a welcoming, safe, and family-friendly environment for children and staff
- Step into the Manager’s role in their absence, ensuring continuity of care and compliance
Early Years Development and Compliance
- Ensure the nursery meets EYFS Early Years Foundation Stage requirements
- Implement and monitor safeguarding policies, maintaining a safe space for all children
- Keep up-to-date records of staff qualifications, DBS checks, and training
- Support children’s learning and development by promoting best practices in early education
Strategic Planning and Policy Implementation
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of nursery policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with OFSTED regulations, local authority guidance, and company policies
- Work flexibly across different nursery rooms and settings as required
- Attend staff meetings, manager meetings, parents’ evenings, and nursery events
Building Strong Relationships
- Work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to foster strong partnerships
- Support children and families by being an approachable, friendly, and clear communicator
- Liaise with OFSTED, local authorities, and multi-agency professionals when required
What We Are Looking ForEssential Skills and Experience
- Level 3 or higher qualification in Early Years or Childcare
- Experience working with children aged 0 to 5 years in a nursery setting
- Knowledge of EYFS framework, OFSTED requirements, and safeguarding
- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and support a team
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- Passionate about delivering exceptional childcare
