At Poulton Childcare, we are dedicated to providing high-quality care and education for young children. We pride ourselves on creating a nurturing environment that supports children’s development and promotes their well-being. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team and help lead our childcare setting. Our nursery is on the grounds of Queensway Methodist Church in Poulton and we are open 8am - 6pm, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Manager in the daily operation of the childcare setting.
- Support staff in delivering high-quality care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and staff, ensuring effective communication.
- Monitor and evaluate children’s progress, planning activities that cater to their individual needs.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and safeguarding policies.
- Lead by example, providing guidance and support to staff and demonstrating best practices.
- Help manage staff performance through supervision, training, and development opportunities.
- Play an active role in promoting a positive and inclusive environment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent (essential).
• Previous experience in a supervisory role within a childcare setting
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team and build strong relationships with children, families and the team.
• Passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
