Piala’s Nursery & Garden Shop, Inc. is currently seeking General Laborers for our retail nursery. These seasonal positions run the duration of our operating season, which is typically from mid-March through mid-December (when the weather turns inclement), and offer 40 hours per week. Overtime is available, but not required. Candidates MUST be able to safely operate a skid loader or be able and willing to learn.
This position is ideal for a self-driven individual that is willing to learn quickly and able to take direction from management. The General Laborer position is physically demanding, requiring manual work in all weather conditions. Horticulture and/or farming experience is ideal, but not required. Compensation package is based on experience.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Hold a current and valid Driver’s License
• Hold a Pesticide Applicator License (3.0 – Turf & Landscape); if one is not currently held, must be willing to obtain and maintain a Pesticide Applicator License
• A positive attitude
• Ability to operate a tractor and/or skid loader to complete job duties; Must have experience operating skid loaders or be able and willing to learn
• Physical condition that allows you to meet the demands of daily tasks, including the ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance
• Availability to work within a flexible schedule including but not limited to Saturdays and/or Sundays from April through October

• Operate tractor and/or skid loader
• Tend to all aspects of plant care, including weeding and watering
• Assist with loading, tagging, and stocking merchandise
• Assemble sales floor designs
• Assist Nursery Manager and Nursery Foreman with daily nursery operations as directed
