Head of Pre-School and Day Care
Salary: £45,000 – £48,000
Reports to: Chair of the Board
Responsible for: All staff including room leaders, business manager, chef, and volunteers

PERSON SPECIFICATION:QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Level 3 in Early Years (commitment to Level 4)
• Paediatric First Aid & Safeguarding training
• Safer recruitment and IT proficiency

EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years in early years leadership
• Strong understanding of EYFS, SEN, child development
• Experience managing teams, curriculum, and compliance

PURPOSE:

Lead the strategic, operational, and financial direction of the nursery and day care. Ensure high-quality early years education in a safe, inclusive, intergenerational setting. Maintain compliance with legal and statutory requirements and foster strong relationships with parents, staff, and stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:TEACHING & LEARNING

• Deliver a stimulating EYFS-aligned curriculum reflecting the setting’s ethos.
• Monitor and improve teaching quality.
• Use assessment to guide planning and meet individual needs.
• Collaborate with families and professionals to support children’s development.
