Job Description
WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING TO FILL AN EXISTING VACANCY ON OUR TEAM.
We are seeking a full-time Nursery Manager to lead our team at PRT Summerland in British Columbia. As a key part of the most innovative conifer seedling producer in the industry, you’ll work with a focus on our people, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. You’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of greenhouse and outdoor seedling production, including financial management, personnel development, customer relations, and ensuring site safety. Your leadership will be crucial in executing PRT’s strategy, which is rooted in our core values of stewardship and safeguarding our people, customers, assets, and environment.
As the manager of PRT Summerland, you will lead a small but dedicated team in producing approximately 6 million seedlings annually on a 10-acre site. The core team consists of three full-time employees, who are supported by a flexible seasonal workforce. The team size fluctuates throughout the year, from around 11 people during the spring sow to a peak of up to 30 people during the busy harvest season from October to December. You will coach and lead this team to produce exceptional results and meet our production targets.
