Nursery Manager Are you a passionate and experienced childcare professional ready to lead a thriving nursery setting based in Eastleigh? Hopscotch Day Nurseries is seeking a dynamic Nursery Manager at our Eastleigh setting to take the reins of daily operations, inspire a dedicated team, and ensure the highest standards of care, education, and safeguarding. About the Role As Nursery Manager of a Hopscotch setting, you will hold overall responsibility for the effective day-to-day management of the nursery. You’ll be a positive role model, leading by example and promoting best practices across all areas of childcare. You’ll ensure compliance with Ofsted, EYFS, and statutory frameworks, while fostering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for children, staff, and families. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Safeguarding Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring all staff are trained and confident in safeguarding procedures. Lead, motivate, and support the nursery team, promoting continuous professional development. Ensure all policies, procedures, and statutory requirements are understood and implemented. Childcare & Education Oversee the delivery of high-quality learning experiences aligned with EYFS. Promote inclusive practice, behaviour management, and support for children with SEND. Ensure children’s voices are heard and reflected in planning and decision-making. Maintain strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external agencies. Operational Management Manage nursery finances, including budget, payroll. Monitor occupancy levels to maintain capacity. Ensure health, safety, hygiene, and emergency procedures are upheld. Oversee staff deployment, induction, and ongoing suitability. Facilitate inspections and implement recommendations from regulatory bodies. Administration & Compliance Lead staff meetings, supervisions, and PDPs to support wellbeing and development. Manage nursery systems including Famly, and ensure efficient communication and reporting. Person Specification Essential: Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education (or equivalent) Proven experience in a fast-paced, childcare environment. Natural affinity with children and strong interpersonal skills Ability to lead a team and work independently Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work under pressure Desirable: Previous experience in a nursery management role Strong knowledge of EYFS, Ofsted, and safeguarding frameworks Experience as a DSL or in multi-agency working Why Join Hopscotch?
