Description

ABOUT US

At Ridgemount Cottage Nursery, we believe every child deserves the very best start in life. Our setting is more than childcare – it’s a place where children are nurtured, families are supported, and staff are inspired to grow and thrive. We are proud of our strong values, our commitment to high-quality early years education, and our warm, collaborative culture.
We’re now looking for an exceptional Nursery Manager to lead our team and drive excellence across all areas of practice, learning, and care.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for a leader who is as passionate about people as they are about children’s early learning. Someone who thrives in a busy, dynamic environment and who can balance strategic thinking with day-to-day operational excellence.

You will bring:

  • A full and relevant Early Years qualification at Level 3 or above (Level 5+ preferred).
  • Current DSL training (within the last 2 years).
  • A strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in an early years setting, with experience in a leadership role (desirable).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong partnerships with families and staff.
  • A genuine passion for nurturing and developing both children and teams.
Responsibilities

As Nursery Manager, you’ll be the heartbeat of the setting – providing inspirational leadership, ensuring outstanding standards of care and education, and building trusted relationships with children, families, and staff.

You will:

  • Lead and motivate a passionate team, fostering a culture of support, openness, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the highest standards of early years practice in line with the EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted expectations.
  • Champion the development of outdoor learning and creative play opportunities.
  • Drive quality assurance and performance management, ensuring every staff member feels valued and supported to reach their potential.
  • Work in close partnership with families, providing excellent communication and customer care.
  • Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery, including health and safety, finance, and compliance.
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, embedding a strong safeguarding culture across the team.
  • Promote the nursery in the community, showcasing what makes us special and welcoming new families.
