Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Creative Explorers is a busy nursery which aims to deliver high end childcare, in addition to highly skilled practitioners. We support our employees to be successful in their career paths and offer opportunities for progression into leadership roles.
We have a number of Level 2 and 3 Nursery Practitioner roles available across all the age groups and are keen to meet people with a strong childcare background who are looking for a new challenge!
The Nursery Practitioner will report directly to the Heads of the Rooms and also the Managers. They will work alongside them to ensure new and existing children and their families are supported throughout their nursery life.

DUTIES:

We use a play based approach to children’s learning and development in which you will undertake a ‘Key Person’ role requiring you to:
- assess the different stages of your key children’s learning in line with the EYFS
- use an online journal system called Famly in which you will be trained on how to observe, support and extend children’s learning daily
- use your observations to plan appropriately for children using their current interests as guidance
- work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members to ensure a smooth transition from home to nursery

BENEFITS OF THE ROLE:

  • Additional Day of Annual Leave: Enjoy an extra day of annual leave for each year of service, rewarding your dedication and commitment to the company (up to a maximum of 3 days)
  • Birthday Leave: Celebrate your special day with peace of mind. If your birthday falls on a weekend or a bank holiday, we will offer you the next working day off.
  • Christmas Closure: Embrace the festive spirit without work commitments. During the Christmas season, you won’t be expected to work, allowing you to spend quality time with your loved ones.
  • 50% Childcare Discount: As an early year’s teacher at our preschool nursery, you will receive a 50% childcare discount, supporting your family’s needs while fostering a strong work-life balance.
  • Referral Bonus: Your recommendations matter! Receive £200 for recommending a qualified early years practitioner to join our team. The candidate must complete six months of employment for you to qualify for the bonus.
  • Paid Sick Days: At our nursery, we value long-term commitment. After three continuous years of service, the company rewards its employees with three paid sick days per year, ensuring your well-being and health are prioritized.
