SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of child development principles and the EYFS framework.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative when required.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in planning activities and maintaining records.
  • The person must hold a relevant level 3 qualification in childcare or equivalent.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities that promote learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Observe and assess children’s progress, ensuring that individual needs are met.
  • Create a warm, welcoming environment for children and their families, encouraging positive relationships.
  • Maintain accurate records of children’s development and daily activities.
  • Support children in their social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour and conflict resolution skills.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and nursery procedures.
