PART TIME/FULL TIME 20-25 HRS PER WEEK. MIN LEVEL 3 EARLY YEARS QUALIFICATION ( NOT HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE OR TEACHING ASSISTANT QUALIFICATIONS POST 2014)

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting their development through engaging activities.
This position requires effective communication skills and the ability to support the Parkside team to support daily nursery operations while providing exceptional childcare.
The role is to work between 2-4 days caring for children in the baby/toddler unit on a part time basis. Extra hours may be available to cover sickness & annual leave.

SKILLS

  • Strong background in Early Childhood Education & relevant qualifications in childcare.
  • Experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to drive initiatives that enhance children’s learning experiences.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage daily tasks effectively.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and contributing positively to their growth.

Responsibilities
  • Create and implement age-appropriate activities that promote early childhood development.
  • Supervise children during their play, ensuring a safe and supportive environment is maintained.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster positive relationships.
  • Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and outdoor play.
  • Observe and assess children’s progress, documenting their development and sharing insights with parents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a clean, organised nursery space that is conducive to learning.
  • Support the team by mentoring less experienced staff members. Working together to collectively provide the mindful adults of the ‘Parkside Family’
  • Foster a culture of where Safeguarding holds the upmost priority.
