JOB SUMMARY

We are a new and vibrant nursery looking for a passionate and dedicated Nursery Practitioner for our lovely toddler room.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Deep understanding of the EYFS.
  • Deep understanding of the standards and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Solid customer service skills and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

· To make all children have access to the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, making sure all planning is completed and implemented.
· To help create and foster development, safety and welfare of the children including the positive management of children’s behaviour.
· To work as part of a team plan, prepare and deliver activities to meet the individual needs of all children including those with Special Educational Needs.
· To work as part of a team to provide activities and resources within the nursery which reflects the multicultural nature of local community.
· To provide a welcoming and happy environment for all.
· To be a good role model for new staff settle into the nursery.
· To attend at least 3 parent/carers meeting a year.
· To take responsibility for the care and the use of the resources in your room.
· To help prepare and serve snacks and main meals for the children in the nursery, being aware of individual dietary requirements and following the nursery food policy.
· To contribute to providing a safe and secure environment for the children in the nursery.
· To be a key person for a group of children, ensuring their time at the nursery is fun, educational and they are well cared for.
· To maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness at all times in relation to yourself, children, equipment and the environment, undertaking cleaning duties as necessary.
· To complete and maintain accurate the daily records of children
· To keep parents fully informed of their child’s health, welfare and educational progress within the nursery on a daily basis.
· To encourage parents and carers to be involved in the setting and their children’s learning.
· To attend and contribute to nursery meetings as required.
· To be constantly aware of the health and safety procedures in regard to the nursery premises, children, other staff, visitors and parents.
· To make yourself and others aware of the policies and procedures in place at the nursery and put them in practice.
· To undertake training as required.
· To ensure all necessary steps are taken to keep children safe and well.
· To understand safeguarding policy and procedures.
· To relay all information regarding parents, carers and children which is made available to you as a result of your work to the appropriate person. To know and treat some information as confidential to yourself and to your line manager.
