Description

Happy Days Nursery in Penair, Truro is expanding its provision to offer more childcare spaces for our local community and we are seeking a Level 3 qualified Senior Supervisor to join our team.

Responsibilities

As a senior room supervisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the effective running of the nursery, through efficient organisation and having the ability to plan and prioritise your work. You will have a room team with several staff members, where you will lead and manage your own key group of children, whilst ensuring your room team provide quality, safe and stimulating environments.
In the absence of the nursery and/or deputy manager you will be responsible for ensuring the safe day to day running of the nursery, and will support in creating an outstanding environment in readiness for Ofsted inspections.
Ensuring we work as a team is essential as a senior room supervisor, therefore you will lead by example using your valuable experience to provide guidance, support and mentorship to team members with empathy and care. You will work closely with the management team to provide the best professional development opportunities for your staff team, and mentor and coach colleagues through induction, supervision and appraisals using tools such as peer observation and mentoring meetings.
Within your own key group and those of your team members you will ensure that our bespoke “Where Children Shine” curriculum, along with the EYFS requirements are used effectively to observe, plan and asses each individual child.
Beyond the care of our children, our families are at the centre of everything we do, therefore you will communicate effectively with our families, creating professional relationships and keeping them consistently informed about their child’s progress and wellbeing.
