The Midland Division Salvation Army Gateway Citadel Corps Community Center located in St. Louis, Missouri, is looking for an individual who would like to apply their experience as a Nursery Worker.   This is a part-time 3.25 per week, $13.75 per hour.   824 Union Rd, St. Louis, MO     Job Objective Position provides direct care for pre-school age children and implements nursery programming, operation and volunteers. Position is expected to comply with and meet The Salvation Army, Federal, State and Local policies and standards. This position is expected to advance and support the Mission of The Salvation Army.   Essential Functions   Supervise children during all activities. Maintain an orderly, structured, safe and clean environment for children. When necessary, mediate disputes among participants, being sensitive to needs of all parties. 1. Provide oversight of volunteers performing nursery duties. 2. Implement programs for children in the nursery including weekly curriculum, structured entertainment and food needs. 3. Exhibit model Christian behavior. Encourage consistent, warm and supportive relationships with children. 4. Meet with supervisor weekly to review nursery operation. 5. Lead Christian curriculum for children on Sundays. 6. Respond and interact with parents of children using the nursery. 7. Maintain confidentiality and enforce Safe from Harm guidelines. 8. Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with clients, co-workers and supervisors. This includes, but is not limited to, such actions as: resolution of conflicts in a professional manner; courteous treatment of staff, visitors and clients; respect of others’ property and person; and professional and appropriate communication to and about clients, co-workers and supervisors.   Minimum Qualifications Previous work with youth activities desirable. Must maintain and exhibit willingness to assist in carrying out The Salvation Army mission. Good communication skills, able to read and write well. Requires basic verbal communications with children, adults and other employees. Valid drivers’ license and pass TSA MVR is a plus. Must be certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid. Capable of lifting a 40-pound child.
