UKExpertMedical employs a range of medical and administrative personnel to assist solicitors from initial enquires through to settlement of a claim.

THE ROLE

Are you looking to apply your clinical expertise in a unique, non-clinical setting? Join our growing team of Nurse/Midwife Analysts and make a real difference. Whilst still helping patients and family you will be providing support to solicitors in both PI and Medical Negligence cases.
UKExpertMedical are heavily involved in the initial investigation period of a claim, discussing prospects and taking a chronology of events moving through to obtaining and analysing medical/social care and employment records. Due to the changing landscape of the legal industry we provide a wide range of services at the pre litigation stage of the claim.
Many of our clients find themselves in the unfortunate situation whereby they require our expert services, showing empathy is essential. The individual will enjoy the challenge of a busy working environment and be able to demonstrate the ability to constantly meet targets and deadlines. The candidate must also be able to work diligently independently and in a team. Making decisions promptly without deliberation is essential.
We’re ideally looking for Nurses or Midwives with Surgical or General Medical backgrounds, experience within medical records collation and chronology would be advantageous, as would a sound knowledge of audit/investigations within a role you have held.
As a Nurse Analyst, you’ll draw on your surgical or acute care experience to assess clinical cases for potential negligence, focusing on breach and causation. You’ll work closely with legal and medical professionals to ensure accurate, evidence-based evaluations.
As well as supporting Solicitors with their Medical Negligence work, we further support social care and family law with their clients medical records to provide clear analysis to allow judgements to be made.

Your role will involve making recommendations on cases for Medical Expert input, assisting the medico legal company determine prospects of success. You will be in constant contact with the Clinical Negligence Team, triaging legal enquiries from law firms.
This position allows you to work from our Lincoln office, Full time and part time hours are available, (Monday – Friday, a minimum of 3 days a week).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acting as point of contact for potential claimants of Clinical Negligence
  • Decision making on breach and causation of a potential claim
  • Dealing with Solicitor queries as and when requested
  • Reviewing Medical Records to determine prospects
  • Sorting Medical Records into a Chronological Order
  • Producing a detailed Chronology of events
  • Training of other Team Members in respect of Medical Matters
  • Communicating with Medical Experts in respect of claim allegations
  • General support for the department
