Job Summary Provide direct, non-licensed patient care and unit support on a medical-surgical floor under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Duties include ADLs, vital signs and intake/output, safe patient handling, specimen collection, and timely communication of patient condition changes. Key Responsibilities Perform and document vital signs, intake & output, weights, pulse oximetry; promptly report changes to the RN. Provide ADLs: bathing, oral care, grooming, toileting, safe transfers/ambulation, positioning, range of motion. Make beds, answer call lights courteously, maintain a clean, safe environment, and prepare rooms for admissions. Assist with admissions, discharges, and transports; ensure proper patient identification. Collect and label specimens (urine, stool, sputum); document per policy. Support meal tray delivery/pickup; document PO intake; recognize and report nutrition concerns. Use mechanical lifts and follow safe-patient-handling procedures.
