Description

The Patient Care Assistant works alongside physicians and nursing staff to support the delivery of high-quality patient care and ensure a positive patient and family experience. This role provides direct support with daily living activities, basic patient care, and unit operations while maintaining a safe, compassionate, and collaborative care environment. The Patient Care Assistant plays a vital role in patient comfort, safety, and overall care delivery. Principal Accountabilities: * Support nursing personnel in providing direct patient care and assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, positioning, and mobility. * Serve and collect meal trays and provide between-meal nourishment as appropriate. * Change bed linens, run errands, and prepare, clean, and sterilize treatment trays and supplies. * Transport patients safely within the facility for consultations, treatments, tests, and examinations. * Measure, observe, and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, and report changes to nursing staff. * Assist with basic patient treatments and comfort measures under the direction of licensed staff. * Maintain a safe, clean, and organized care environment for patients, families, and staff. * Perform continuous rounding and check-ins throughout the shift to ensure patient and family needs are met. * Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, alertness, and a positive attitude at all times. * Perform other related duties as assigned.
