Nursing Assistant Specialist 1st and 2nd shift paid travel/mileage General Summary/Responsibilities: The Nursing Assistant Specialist is a paraprofessional member of the health care team who provides physical and mental support for the patient, performs light housekeeping and meal preparation and provides companionship and incidental personal care. This specialist may work under the supervision of a licensed nurse to perform basic nursing tasks as assigned. Dimensions: Assigned to cases by Scheduling Department to work with patients in variety of settings. FIDRNOCT Qualifications Education Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED Licensure/Certification/Registration  CPR Certification Experience Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience Successful completion of one of the following: 1. Nurse’s aide training course within the last twelve months. 2. Direct patient care experience within the last six months. 3. Currently enrolled in nursing school with the completion of core nursing classes. Knowledge/Skills • Must be able to read, write, and follow written instructions and document care given. • Must complete agency competencies. • Must display good physical and emotional health and be capable of stooping and bending and lifting up to 50 lbs. Should demonstrate good personal hygiene. • Must be self-directed with the ability to work with little direct supervision and have the maturity necessary for establishing and maintaining a good work relationship with the patient, the patient's family and all other office personnel. • Must have a sincere interest in and sympathetic attitude toward caring for the sick and disabled at home. • Must meet all agency personnel policies. • Must have reliable transportation.
